Description

Court gown made for Tafe showcase for Diploma of Costume.

Made with raw silk backed with cotton drill. Petticoat, under skirt with ruffles, main skirt is open, pleated into waistband with train and separate bodice which laces at back. Bodice and main skirt have d rings around waist and is laced together internally to hold the shape.

The stomacher is part of the bodice and has plastic boning encased in the cotton backing. Pannier is made with crin wire.

All trims made with bias silk, machine embroidered. Stomacher has smocked silk with glass beads. Corsage is a bit of a cheat, bought silk flowers.

Couldn't help but capture the Cinderelle cliche in this one.
